Paid advertising for practices

Quoted after a short call Monthly, ad spend billed to your own account. CAD, before tax.

Paid search works for a practice when it points at one service, one place, and a page that answers the question in the ad. It fails when it points a generic ad at a home page.

In short

Google, Microsoft and Meta campaigns for the services that pay, with ad copy drafted by AI, every ad checked against your College standard, and spend billed by the platform to your own account.

We run campaigns for the services where a new patient searches with intent: compounding, travel vaccines, a minor ailments clinic, a new location that needs a full schedule. AI drafts the ad variations and keyword lists; a pharmacist checks every ad and every landing page against the College standard and the prescription drug rules; you approve the budget. The platform bills your own account, so you see every dollar and nothing passes through us.

Each campaign lands on a page built for it (see campaign landing pages), and every call and form is tracked on your own domain, so the monthly report says what the spend bought in enquiries, not in clicks.

What you get

  • Campaign set up in your own Google Ads, Microsoft Advertising or Meta account, with Monograph as a manager you can remove
  • Keyword and audience research for the services and places that matter to you
  • Ad copy drafted by AI, checked by a pharmacist against the College standard and the prescription drug advertising rules, approved by you
  • Weekly budget, bid and search term review by a person
  • Conversion tracking of calls and forms on your own domain, without ad pixels on pages that reveal a condition
  • A section in the monthly Growth report: spend, enquiries, cost per enquiry, and what changes next month

What the AI does, and what a person does

How we use AI across these modules: it drafts, schedules, monitors and reports. It does not decide what a patient sees. Every post, reply, email, ad and page is approved by a person before it goes out, and the clinical and regulatory check is done by a pharmacist, not by a model. AI output can be wrong; the approval step exists because of that.

The rules this runs under

  • Ads are advertising under your College standard, so the same rules apply: accurate, no superlatives, no guarantees, no testimonials where prohibited. A prescription drug can be named with its price and quantity, and nothing more (Food and Drug Regulations, C.01.044).

Sources: Food and Drug Regulations, s. C.01.044, Health Canada guidance, CPBC (BC), OCP (ON). Checked against the version current on the date below; confirmed again against your province and profession before work starts.

  • Google's healthcare and medicines policy sets what can be advertised and where. For Canada, online pharmacies and telemedicine providers need accreditation (for example LegitScript) and Google certification before they can advertise; a community pharmacy or clinic advertising its services is in a different position. We read the current policy for your case before the first campaign. Policy read 25 October 2026.

  • Ad platform tracking on health pages can disclose a visitor's interest in a condition to the platform. We measure calls and forms on your own domain and do not place ad pixels on pages that reveal a condition, so a visit to a sexual health or weight management page is not sent to an advertising network.

Rules and platform policies as read on 25 October 2026. They change; the quarterly re review under Care picks up changes, and nothing here is legal advice.

What it does not do

  • Ad spend is never billed through Monograph. The platform bills your card or account directly.
  • No campaign promotes a prescription drug beyond name, price and quantity, and no campaign targets people by a health condition.
  • No guaranteed position, cost per click or number of patients. We report what happened.
  • Meta campaigns run only for services where the College standard and Meta's health advertising rules both allow it.

What you provide

  • Your own ad accounts, or a short call to open them in your name
  • A monthly budget you set and can change
  • Approval of ad copy and landing pages before launch

What it costs

Quoted after a short call

Prices for these modules are not published yet. Each is quoted after a short call, in Canadian dollars before tax, and written into the proposal before any work starts.

Growth itself has a published price on the Growth page. A module can be added to Growth, or taken on its own after a build.

Questions about paid advertising for practices

How much should a practice spend?

It depends on the service and the city. We set a budget with you after keyword research shows what a click costs for your services in your area, start small, and report cost per enquiry monthly. The budget is yours to change at any time.

Can we advertise a weight loss injection by name?

Only by name, price and quantity, with no claim about what it does, under the federal rules. In practice we advertise the clinic or service and let the page explain the visit. Platform policies add their own limits, which we check before launch.

Do you take a percentage of ad spend?

No. Spend is billed by the platform to your account. Our fee is for the work, quoted after a short call.
