The Practice Website Check

Enter your practice website address, and nothing else. We fetch the page, score it on ten points, and show you what was found and what good looks like, in a few seconds. Ask for a copy by email afterwards if you want one. If your site passes, we will say so.

The ten points

  1. Speed and weight on mobile #Page weight, scripts, and third party hosts, measured as served.
  2. Mobile layout and tap targets #Can a patient use it one handed.
  3. Booking or contact path #Can a patient book or request in under three taps.
  4. Hours, address, and phone #Visible, current, and marked up for search.
  5. Google Business Profile #Linked and consistent with the site.
  6. Structured data #JSON-LD that parses and describes the practice with a name, where it is or serves, and a way to reach it. Microdata and RDFa are not read, so a page using them is marked not assessed.
  7. Accessibility basics #Contrast, alt text, headings, keyboard navigation.
  8. Privacy policy and forms #A privacy policy linked from the page; no form sending to a plain email address; no field that appears to ask for health information (heuristic). What the policy says is not judged.
  9. Advertising standard flags #Testimonials, superlatives, guarantees, prescription drug promotion, unverifiable claims. Marked for review, not judged.
  10. Found by search engines and assistants #No noindex or nosnippet on the page, robots.txt not blocking search crawlers, and the text readable without JavaScript. The sitemap, llms.txt, and assistant and training controls are reported, not scored.

Each point scores 0, 5, or 10. A point we could not assess, such as a file that refused our request, is marked and left out, and the total is shown out of the points assessed. The report closes with three recommended actions and one sentence on what we would do first. Every point says what it measured and what it could not.

Questions

Is it really free, and do I have to give you my email?

It is free, and no. The address of the site is all we need to show you the score. If you want a copy you can keep or forward, we will email one, and only then do we ask who you are. Nobody follows up unless you reply.

How does the check work?

We fetch your home page and its response headers the way a search engine would, along with your robots.txt, llms.txt, sitemap and privacy page, and score ten points from what is actually served. It takes a few seconds. Nothing is installed, nothing is changed, and we only read pages that are already public.

How accurate is an automated check?

It is a heuristic read of one page, and it says so on every point. It is reliable on things that can be measured from markup: page weight, structured data, viewport, alt text, labels, robots rules. It cannot measure colour contrast, keyboard behaviour, tap target size, or a lab speed score, and it does not pretend to. Those are checked by hand in a full review. It also cannot tell you whether you are indexed, or whether any assistant cites or recommends you.

Do you judge whether my site is compliant?

No. Point nine flags language patterns that Colleges commonly restrict (testimonials, superlatives, guarantees, prescription drug promotion) and marks them for review. A flagged word is not automatically a problem. Whether something is permitted is a judgement your College makes.

Do you store my website or my details?

We store the address you checked and the report, so we can email it if you ask for a copy and answer if you reply. A score you run without asking for a copy is stored with no name against it. If you do ask for a copy, your name, practice and email are stored alongside that report. We never store a copy of your site. The checker identifies itself in your server logs as MonographWebsiteCheck.
