Dentists

Dental websites written to your College's advertising standard

Dental advertising is among the most closely regulated in Canadian health care, and dental sites are among the most likely to break the rules: before and after galleries, superlatives, and testimonials appear on template sites every day. We write dental pages that convert without those, reviewed by a dentist, and we keep the dated record of what was checked.

What goes wrong

The problems we see on dental clinic sites

  • Template sites full of before and after images and testimonials that your College may not permit.
  • No clear path for a new patient: forms, insurance, what the first visit involves.
  • Emergency instructions buried or missing.
  • Fee and direct billing information that is vague or absent.
  • No structured data, so the practice does not appear well in map results.

Regulators

Who sets the advertising rules

Names and links checked 2026-09-25. That confirms the current body and its website, not what its advertising standard says: the standard itself is reviewed at its current version for your province on each engagement. Other provinces on request.

What we deliver

Patient tools for a dental clinic

Software your practice may already use

A dental practice runs a practice management system that holds the schedule, the chart and the claims. Most vendors sell online booking or a patient portal as an add on, and several distinguish a confirmed booking from an appointment request the practice approves. Claims move through CDAnet and ITRANS inside that software, not through the website.

Keep the software your team already uses. We review your booking, intake and patient portal tools before proposing the website. Your proposal identifies the connection method for each tool and any vendor requirements or additional costs.

Researched examples, checked against each vendor's current public documentation. Naming a product here does not mean the vendor endorses Monograph or that a connection has been built for a client. What a vendor allows depends on the product, the edition, the enabled modules and your contract with them, so each route is confirmed for your practice at proposal. Checked 1 October 2026. Dentitek and Progident/Clinique serve Quebec practices in French.

How a website connects to dental clinic software

Most practices run two layers of software. The clinical system holds the record, the schedule and the billing. The patient facing tool is what a patient touches: booking, a refill request, an intake form or a portal. A website connects to the second layer, through whatever the vendor supports, and never replaces the first.

RouteWhat it meansConfirmed at proposal
Link or buttonThe website sends the patient to the booking page, refill tool, intake form or portal the vendor already hosts. Works with any tool that has a public address, and with the button code some vendors generate. The address your practice approves for patients, and any rule about new or existing patients.
Vendor supported embedThe vendor's own booking or intake component runs inside your page, so the patient does not leave your site. Only where the vendor documents an embed, and only when it works with a keyboard and on a phone, with a plain link as the fallback. The vendor's current embed documentation, the module enabled on your account, and a test on a phone.
Existing vendor connectorYour clinical system already connects to a patient tool (an EMR to Ocean, a practice system to an exercise platform). The website links to that tool; the connection between the two systems is the vendor's, not ours. The exact product, edition and module on each side, what the connector is permitted to do, and your vendor's confirmation.
Routed requestA form Monograph builds sends a refill, transfer, intake or registration request into your own system or a Canadian hosted intake tool, not to a shared inbox and never by plain email. A clinician at your practice still reviews every request. Available in Signature and Platform builds. The destination your team will work from, who owns it, and where it stores what it receives.
Direct connectionNew, authenticated data exchange between the website and your system through the vendor's own interface. Only where the vendor grants access, and always scoped, quoted and tested separately before patients use it.Vendor access or approval, a suitable contract, the defined data flow, a test environment, and who maintains it.

The full list of systems, routes and status is on EMR and pharmacy system integration. Product names belong to their vendors and appear here to describe compatibility, not endorsement.

Compliance

What the review covers for dentists

  • Before and after images, testimonials, and superlatives are used only where your College's advertising standard permits them, and most do not.
  • Titles, specialties, and designations follow the College's rules; general dentists are not presented as specialists.
  • Fee advertising follows provincial rules; no claims about insurance coverage the practice cannot control.
  • Forms collect contact details and consent only, routed to your practice management software.
  • Privacy policy matches the forms and analytics in use.

Questions from dentists

Do you build websites for dental clinics across Canada?

Yes. Monograph designs and maintains websites for dental clinics across Canada, from Vancouver. Your copy is written to the advertising standard of your regulatory College and your province, the regulator for your province is confirmed at each review, and your booking and intake forms connect to the systems your dental clinic already runs.

Can we show before and after photographs?

Only where your College's advertising standard permits it, and several do not. We check the current standard for your province, tell you what is allowed, and design the pages to convert without relying on prohibited content.

Will the site work with our practice management software?

We link to the booking and forms your software provides, or show the vendor's widget where one is documented, so the front desk keeps one system. We verify the vendor's current features, your plan and the enabled modules at proposal time.

Which dental software does the website work with?

The systems we have researched for Canadian practices are ABELDent, ClearDent, Tracker, Dentrix (Canadian edition), Open Dental, Curve Hero, MaxiDent, Paradigm Clinical, and Dentitek and Progident/Clinique in Quebec. Each has its own booking module or patient service, usually an add on. The site links to it, or shows the vendor's widget where one is documented (Tracker and Open Dental). We confirm your edition, plan and modules before promising anything.

Is an online dental booking confirmed, or is it an appointment request?

Often a request. ABELDent, for example, has the practice accept a new patient booking before it is final, while ClearDent and Progident can book against the live schedule. The button on your site reads "Request an appointment" or "Book an appointment" according to what your software actually does, and the confirmation wording matches.

Can the website handle our insurance claims?

No, and it should not. Claims go through CDAnet and ITRANS inside your certified practice software, by your staff. The site explains what you accept, how direct billing works and what a patient pays on the day, without promising coverage the practice does not control.
